Background Information
Lupin III is an anime and manga franchise created by Kazuhiko Kato (also known as Monkey Punch). It is about Lupin the 3rd, who is the grandson of the fictional theif Arsène Lupin. He and his gang, composed of sharpshooter Jigen Daisuke, the treacherous but beautiful Fujiko Mine, and the ninja Goemon Ishikawa the Thirteenth (who fights more like a samurai than a ninja) are always trying to pull of some kind of heist or other crime, while they are pursued by the detective Koichi Zenigata. There are several manga and anime series, as well as movies, live - action productions, OVAs, a music, video games, etc. Technically the original canon should be the work directly created by Monkey Punch, but there is just so much material that it would be a good idea for the OP of a Lupin thread to specify which version he or she is using.
It should be noted that the famed anime director Hayao Miyazaki's directorial debut was with a Lupin III movie, The Castle of Cagliostro
Standing in the Battledome
In the OBD, usually the main characters are used in matches. Due to the often comedic nature of the Lupinverse, it's hard to seriously quantifiy their abilities. For example, Goemon once cut the moon in half and has done other ridiculous feats that are incongruent with the general displayed power level of the universe. However, it is generally agreed that Lupin and Fujiko are peak human or above, Jigen is one of the most accurate gunslingers in fiction, and Goemon is at least supersonic and can cut through materials much harder than steel.
