- Genjutsu (Illusionary Techniques): One of the three basic jutsu types, genjutsu manipulates the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses, trapping them in an illusion. Weaker genjutsu can be canceled out by intense pain or outside influence.
- Magen: Jubaku Satsu (Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death): Kurenai first disappears from sight in a mist-like fashion in order to approach the target without being detected. Once close enough, she will bind the enemy by materializing a tree around them. With the target constrained, Kurenai will attempt to slit their throat with a kunai.
