Powers and Abilities: Super strength, speed, durability, agility, endurance, can generate barriers with his aura (repelled several energy blades from Hishigi with it), soul eating, can infiltrate his opponents mind and show them illusions, enhanced senses (Shingan allows him to see up to several kilometers, through solid objects, and into an opponent's mind), master swordsman and hand-to-hand fighter, fire creation and manipulation, can shoot fire blasts and use flame barriers, high-level heat & fire immunity (unaffected by the AoE of his own fire attacks), resistance to petrification and mind control (was able to remain alive without fully turning to stone or crumbling to dust after being subject to Hishigi's Medusa Eyes, and wholly thwarted the petrification when powering up with Red Eyes), can generate shock waves and wind blades with kicks as well as with sword slashes and shouts, can power up by "speaking" to his sword and via Red Eyes

Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Martial Arts: The most striking aspect of Yuan's abilities is his prowess in close-quarter-combat. Yuan fights gracefully and relentlessly in a fluid manner, using the motions of the battle to link movements together, smoothly executing combos of kicks, punches and sword strikes while simultaneously evading and blocking. He usually is unarmed, but when he truly goes all out, he employs a hybrid style, that mixes his mastery of the sword with graceful hand-to-hand combat, making the most use of his exceptional agility and strength.
- Matter Is Void--All Is Vanity: Yuan attacks his opponent with a flurry of consecutive kicks that inflicts slicing damage, rather than blunt trauma.
- Red Eyes: Yuan can call out to the Mibu blood within him for significant boost in power, which changes his eyes to crimson red.
- Genshiso: The power of illusion. Yuan infiltrates his opponents mind and shows them illusions. By making a target believe that he has killed them he is able to destroy their minds and subsequently devour their souls. The draw back is that you need to look at the back of his hand for a period of time and if you have a strong will to live it can be broken.
- Shingan: A mental eye technique that allows Yuan to see up to several kilometers, ignoring solid objects if he chooses, and into a person's mind.
- Fire Style: A school created by Yuan, which involve the control of fire. With his mastery, Yuan can freely generate flames from his body and sword for both offensive and defensive purposes, and command them according to his will. He uses his flames in tandem with his close-quarter-combat prowess, pressing his opponent in melee and releasing point-blank fire attacks when they are exposed.
- Chikewai (Blood Markings): A technique which increases his power and speed by putting himself in a state where he pushes himself beyond the limit, risking immense exhaustion.
- Hono Chikewai (Flame Blood Markings): In order to considerably enhance his capacity, Yuan sets the blood in his veins on fire. This is considered a forbidden art which burns up his life, and he can only maintain it for a short while, and it leaves him drained afterwards.
- Shakuran Entei (Burning Incense): Yuan sends a blasts of fire at the enemy.
- Maoen: A more advanced form of Skakuran Entei. Yuan releases a devastating, concentrated blast of blazing fire from his sword or body.
- Akuma No Ago (Hell Crusher): An omnidirectional attack that emits a large sphere of black flames from Yuan's body.
- Luchifer Kourin (Demon's Breath): Yuan unleashes several small blasts of black flames at the enemy.
- Flame Wall: Yuan summons powerful flames to block enemy attacks. He forms it as a wall in front of him or surrounds his body with flames like an armor.
- Fire Bunshin: Yuan creates a clone of himself made of fire, which he can use for misdirection by swiftly moving as he creates it.
