Notable Attacks/Techniques:

- Confuse Ray: Gengar fires a purple circle from its eyes towards the opponent, causing them to become confused.

- Dark Pulse: Gengar puts its hands together and forms a small black ball of energy. It then separates its hands and fires a beam of black and purple circles at the opponent from the ball.

- Destiny Bond: Gengar's body becomes outlined in purple. After fainting, two swirling purple lights come out of Gengar's eyes to the opponent that knocked it out. The opponent becomes surrounded by a purple aura and instantly faints.

- Dream Eater: Gengar's eyes flash red and it creates a shadow-like version of itself. The shadow then goes through a sleeping opponent, sucking up its energy.

- Hypnosis: Gengar sticks its hands out and sends dark circles toward its opponent, causing them to fall asleep.

- Lick: Gengar licks the opponent with its incredibly long tongue, paralyzing them.

- Night Shade: Gengar fires a black or dark crimson beam, outlined in red, blue, or purple from its eyes or hands at the opponent.

- Shadow Ball: Gengar begins to form a dark ball with purple sparks and fires it toward the opponent.

- Shadow Punch: Gengar raises one of its arms and purple sparks travel up its arm and appear around its fist. It then punches the air and sends a black fist with purple static electricity around it at the opponent.

- Sludge Bomb: Gengar opens its mouth and releases a ball of brown sludge at the opponent. When the ball of sludge hits the opponent, it explodes and releases a thick toxic mist.
