Notable Attacks/Techniques:

 

 

- Mk.Braze Hyperion: Ash's Asterism, ability to create and manipulate fire. It's a very simple and average ability, specialized solely in attachment. Its most basic function is to cover his body and sword with powerful flames and increase his strength and durability, literally turning him into fireball. Due to enormous amount of heat converged on his sword, he can cut through steel as if it was butter. Ash can control fire in a variety of ways, like surrounding his body in flame twister scorching the air itself or interfere with existing flames and attach them to his body before he's burned to effectively negate any damage related to fire from explosions to even solar prominence. He can also defend against physical attacks by converging super-high density flames at the moment of impact and turn humans into bombs by converging huge amount of flames on their bodies; resulting explosion is powerful enough to shake entire graveyard and due to Ash's property of maneuverability, manipulate flames and heat of explosion in irregular shapes to attack only enemies, while at the same time leaving his allies unscathed. Nevertheless, essence of this Asterism is merely to rise up, fight, cut and burn.

  • Enchant: special technique of Asterism used by those who excel in attachment. It's an ability which adds characteristics of Asterism to matter and even living beings without destroying them. Ash is without a doubt the best user of this technique in the series. Other than its basic use to clothe his body and weapon with flames, he can also enchant surrounding matter without burning it and unravel this coexistence at any moment he desires; doing so will provide pieces of matter with explosive propulsion, turning them into deadly barrage of fire, oil and mass. Ash can even create pseudo-landmines by hiding enchanted flames underground which burn upon contact with his enemy or by his own will. He can also turn anything he's holding into potential weapon by enchanting it with his flames, this applies even to corpses that Ash can wield in conjunction with his own sword for provisional dual wielding. Touching enchanted objects even slightly is fatal, because flames will spread almost instantaneously akin to domino effect and will spread as far as Ash's interference value allows. Flames themselves move like a living creature according to Ash's will, attacking his enemies and protecting him at the same time.

  • Nuclear Thruster: Hyperion's technique which reproduces principles of fuel acceleration device (rocket booster) from Old Age. By taking advantage of his own flammable body in this state, Ash releases huge amount of blood and then ignites it to gain high-speed propulsion akin to burner. It's fast enough to leave afterimages which not only confuse his opponents, but also burn upon contact. He can also use recoil from sudden acceleration to dodge imminent attacks. Later, Ash doesn't use blood, but only compressed flames for the same effect, without damaging his body.

  • Sphere Riser Link: while Mk.Braze Hyperion is rather medicore Asterism, there is a reason why it's exceptional among all other abilities. Because Ash's is the observer of Sphere Riser he derived shape of the Sphere in the form of Helios, giant of light inhabiting his mental landscape without his knowledge. Unlike Kerberos, Helios in this form is only a spiritual existence created by fabricated memories of Christopher Valzelide and implanted in Ash by Gilbert. In other words, Hyperion is existence born from two separate beings: Wax Wing (Ash) which functions as a vessel and Smoldering Wing (Helios) which functions as an engine. That's why so long does Ash will walk the path of light, take mental direction worthy of Hero's successor, Helios will grant him infinite power. It works on similiar principle to fusion of Valzelide and Kagutsuchi who were able to infinitely increase their power by mutual competition of willpowers. Thus, when Wax Wing and Smoldering Wing synchronize they can amplify burning power and general parameters of Mk.Braze Hyperion seemingly without limit. Heat of his flames rise so much they simulate nuclear fusion, turn everything into ash and burn space itself, his sword loses shape and turns into flaming pillar and doctrine of the world collapses under his persistent will. This tremendous willpower emerging from the depths of his inner world burns even himself; bones are cracking, organs and muscles are melting and his blood is boiling, literally turning his own body into torch that will bring him victory at the expense of his own life. Still, with each passing second Ash breaks limits to overpower his enemies and defy death, ignoring pain of madness and keep fighting. However, attribute of light is characterized by immutable spirit, one that will not be swayed by mental direction and accomplish anything by trampling everything on its path. Due to Ash's spiritual vector, his fabricated memories and kind personality, he's as much fascinated by light as he's scared of it. Even mere second of straying from path of hero will reduce his connection with Helios, drastically reducing his power.

    • True Hyperion: similiar to Rain, excessive synchronization with Sphere Riser can trap Helios and Ash in the cage of destiny engraved in the Sphere. Even though they gain phenomenal power by walking the path of light, this's still merely setting estabilished by Sphere of Light, in other words, they're nothing more than marionettes dancing to the tune of predetermined fate. Thus, they will trample disciples of darkness regardless of their will, destroying everything on their way to reach "victory". In the worst case scenario (such as at the end of Rain's route), they will repeat fate of epic tale and revenge story - ultimate light and ultimate darkness fighting only through strings of destiny, not own will. In this form he's true incarnation of light; his willpower pushes him to the new heights, every limit is surpassed and Sphere Riser constantly supplies him with endless power. However, unable to find answer on his own, Helios takes over Ash's body and consciousness, finally pushing vector of spirit in a single direction. There's no longer distinction between inner and outer world, flames gushing out from Ash's spirit appear in real world, ironically doing more damage to him than opponent's attacks. Hyperion literally uses his own body as a fuel, turning into genuine Sphere of Light - repeating awakening and trasncedence, denying opposition and going forward by disregarding everything around him. His melting body is gradually shifting from physical to spiritual, blood and muscles are replaced by astral particles, vocal cords change their composition no longer uttering Ash's words, transforming him into autonomous Asterism similiar to Kerberos. Waves of Sphere Riser repaint Wax Wing's existence, with colors of true successor of light, Smoldering Wing. Sun stuffed inside Ash demands to be released, rampaging in its outer shell and breaking boundaries between fantasy and reality. Ash has no longer control over his body, darkness recgonized him as victim, while light as strong-willed - before two sides of spectrum would turn him into ash, he was saved by his beloved and together they found new answer.

 

- Mk.Ride Perseus: Ash's original Asterism, ability to temporarily seize and control Asterism of his opponents. What differentiated Ash from Gilbert's guinea pigs is his quality for attachment. This and long term experiments of reproducing on him various abilities, even these of Christopher Valzelide and Planetes, eventually sublimated into unique ability to absorb starlight without harm and use it on his own. This ability is activated unconsciously and Ash will absorb any ability which comes in contact with his body, whether he likes it or not. As a by-product, Ash also gains insight to understand nature and true essence of absorbed starlight, even if said ability is invisible and obscure. Ash can even use Sphere related abilities, but due to its nature, he can't use it without original user's consent. This's by no means invincible power. First of all, there's a limit to this absorption and excess of this acceptable capacity will deal damage to him normally. Second, because Ash uses his own energy to maintain this absorption, he can't adjust and save it according to attack power of the enemy. The energy he uses is always at maximum capacity so he must use this amount of energy to absorb opponent's attacks, even if they're miniscule and harmless. In other words, he's always in danger of wasting his power. Finally, while he can use opponent's ability, it doesn't mean he will have the same proficiency in using it. Although he was eventually able to surpass Gilbert's St.Stygma Elysium, only after few minutes of acquiring it.

 

- Mk.Shine Answerer: Ash's Asterism in unison with Mistel, ability to share Asterism. Using backdoor left by Kerberos to interfere with Dimensional Reactor, what Ash derived from high-dimensional light is not boost of output, but enhancement of attachment. Unlike regular attachment which can only enchant characteristics of Asterism, this one can enchant starlight's ability, will and concept itself, although limited to Mistel. It's the power which breaks fundamental rule of Asterism - that one person can use only one star. This allows Ash and Mistel to freely switch their abilities, Mk.Braze Hyperion and Tuatha De Danann Brionac. Because their adamantium weapons are so different, effects of the received Asterism change as well; from fire to light and light to fire, from sword to spear and spear to sword. However, sharing of starlight is merely by-product. True value of Answerer is perfect synchronization. Through the channel connecting them, Mistel and Ash can feel their intentions more clearly than ever before. Switching dozens of times in a second and going faster and faster without end. Not even Dainsleif whose processing capacity surpasses that of electron computational computers from Yamato can keep up. When they should switch the stars, where they should attract enemy, what do you want to do and what you should do - it's the optical communication of mutual understanding as if their brains were directly connected.

 

- Mk.Rain Artemis: Ash's Asterism in unison with Nagisa, fusion of Mk.Braze Hyperion and Silverio Trinity, nuclear reactor of starlight. Born after Ash and Rain realized they can't become successors of epic tale and revenge story respectively, no matter how hard they try and instead found their own answer. The result is coexistence of abilities with contradictory attributes. Hyperion's red flames change into serene silver flames that burn the world, but without affecting Ash's body, nor they change his mental state. Powerful flames which defy original function of anti-particles by burning more fiercely the more anti-particles they take. It's all due to distance. Just like scorching flames of the Sun turn into gentle sunlight upon reaching the Earth, Rain can successfully extract flames from Hyperion, leaving crystal of wrath behind. He can still use characteristics of Hyperion, like infinite awakening and manipulation of red flames, but due to Rain's Asterism all disadvantages associated with it were eliminated and upon reaching certain limit red flames will turn silver, protecting Ash's soul. Moreover, using principle similiar to nuclear reactor, which can be destructive force and prime mover, surplus of energy isn't wasted, but instead dominated by Rain as if it was stock of stardust. Pouring it down into singularity will arbitrary turn this stardust into prayer of enhancement in case Ash requires more power and healing prayer in case he's damaged. By maintaining this connection with Rain and thus, singularity, he can no longer run out of power, becoming as strong and fast as he wishes to be.

  • Star Reactor Overload: Ash's answer to Kerberos's Black Hole. He releases most powerful flames he can manage and converges them on his sword. He then amplies it by pouring down all surrounding stardust. The resulting pillar of silver flames can pierce heavens, completely overpower Kerberos' most powerful attacks and destroy his physical body without leaving any fragment.

 

- Mk.Vanish Kerberos: Ash's Asterism in unison with Kerberos, created after Helios abandoned his subconscious, forcing Ash to find alternative power source. Thus, Kerberos recognized him as a victim of light, and granted him power of anti-astral particles generation. Resonace with Ash's orichalcum causes anti-particles to emerge from his whole body in the form of black flames, changing him into jet black helbird and bringing all champions of light down. Nevertheless, even with his unique vector of spirit which sways him between light and darkness, he's primarily a vessel specialized in enchanting for Sphere Riser, unsuited for Sphere Razer. In other words, this's merely first aid treatment. Fundamentally, Kerberos can't replace Helios as Ash's power source. Also, unlike Rain who is true successor of darkness, Ash doesn't have enough information about it to use its power to full potential. Naturally, after Ash awakened his own Sphere he no longer have these problems.

 

- Mk. Braze Keraunos: Ash's Asterism in unison with Keraunos, fusion of Mk.Braze Hyperion and Gamma-ray Keraunos through Calling Sphere Bringer. The result is gamma-rays spreading from cut made by Ash's sword, while enchanting space itself. It's powerful enough to evaporate seawater equivalent to hundreds of thousands of tons and bisect universe in two. Hyperion's flames which acquired property of concept destruction can now purify repainted world by Amenokurato and incinerate his virtual space. Their starlight compatibility is the highest ever, since unlike Gilbert and Dainsleif who see Keraunos only through eyes of mad fanaticism, he and Ash have genuine and mutual respect for each other.

 

 

- Calling Sphere Bringer: Ash's Sphere, breaking point of attachment, the answer of "acceptance"; victory to welcome all thoughts, to recognize strength and weakness of someone: valor and irrationality of light, affection and resentment of darkness and uniting both sides of spectrum is human nature, swaying between them. Heaven, underworld and human world - Trinity binding all 3 worlds together, which is Sphere of forgiveness, galaxy of light inviting all stars under its blessing. The result of this arrival is the ability to accept, share, exchange and fuse any Asterism, pinnacle of attachment which can enchant any star, regardless of himself, others and space, breaking fundamental rule of one ability per person. It's the star which makes full use of Ash's communication skills to converse with other people and after receiving permission, use their abilities. Not only from living people, but even those who are dead. Sphere Bringer allows Ash to access history of the Earth recorded in higher dimension through Amaterasu and make contact with dead star's personal data (remnants of starlight containing will, personality and memories of the original user) and completely recreate once existing star. Ash can even use abilities that not even original users were able to use, such as deadline recognition of Albert Lodeon. He can manipulate many stars at once and fuse them freely, even these with contradictory nature. There's virtually no limitations to the quantity of enchanted abilities (even of the same type). What he can enchant is not merely characteristics of the Asterism and its properties but ability itself. Also, because he can enchant space it's no longer possible for his opponents to defend against deployed abilities through physical means, nor to avoid them without ability to destroy space. Meanwhile, those connected to Sphere Bringer won't be harmed by deployed stars no matter how destructive they are, not it will do any harm to the world, only "enemy" will receive damage. It's a mysterious sea of mutual dialogue spreading through 3 world by encompassing diversity and infinite possibilities, ring of connected hearts, ultimate principle where everyone fight as one; answer of Ash who was finally liberated from duality of strong and weak. As long as there's anyone willing to lend hand, Ash will break through restrictions of time and space to connect everyone and bring infinite light. Nevertheless, this ability isn’t without its weaknesses. Among all Spheres this one is the weakest on its own and without prayers of others it cannot do very much. Since abilities are not borrowed unconditionally, but due to convicting others to lend him a hand, anyone has right to refuse his offer. Even if they decide to help him, quality of borrowed power is fully dependent on compatibility between Ash and others: if they’re compatible Ash can use this ability to its full potential and perfect properties, but if they’re incompatible properties of Asterism are adapted to Ash’s own statistics. Also, even if he can fuse the most contradictory abilities, incompatibility between their users can result in some serious backlash and potentially harm him.

  • Dimensional Manipulation: probably because it's Rain who shares answer with Ash, his ability to manipulate space and dimensions has been drastically increased. Since he can perceive cross-dimensional coordinates, no one can escape his sight. In the fight with Helios he could rejoin and restore severed and destroyed space. He can summon concept of Earth and wear it like space suit to protect himself from hazardous environment of outer space and from being swallowed by higher dimension. He can even fix himself and others to a single dimension with invisible "wedge" and prevent his opponent from jumping through dimensions and negate any attempts to BFR himself, while at the same time nullify reality warping due to fixed environment. Separating consciousness merged with higher dimensions and sending it back to 3-dimensional space isn’t beyond his power either. Still, as someone who merely uses dimensions he can’t win against one that destroys them.

  • Starlight Coexistence

    • Sacrifice Andromeda + healing Asterism: combination of Aya's Asterism and many unknown abilities. This union takes form of thousands of light strings weaving through wounds, healing body, creating artificial organs and replacing lost blood. Through Sphere Bringer, Ash was able to heal thousands of victims in the entire city from such a grievous wounds like destruction of heart and severed limbs.

    • Sacrifice Andromeda + Libra of the Astrea + Judgement Tear: storm of rupturing winds, lightning and plasma created by steel strings stretched into space which turn into turrets of starlight. Saturation attack numbering in decillion with high density even when it’s not attached to space, attacking from all directions. Due to sharing of characteristics they travel at speed of lightning and through direct supply of Sphere they’re powerful enough pierce Helios’ self-destruction defense.

      • (Sacrifice Andromeda + Libra of the Astrea + Judgement Tear) + Hexagonal Venus Hive: fourth starlight added to fusion above. Originally ability to manipulate countless metal bees, here it changed into manipulation ability of lightning and plasma fusion – each individual bee literally turned into autonomous ability, amplifying maneuverability and hit ratio. Not only there’s no loss in firepower, but number of attacks increased even further. Moreover, they’re no longer linear, but due to its autonomous nature all bees attack randomly making it harder for enemy to intercept them. Thousands of ability bees per second flood their enemy, biological bombs powerful enough to make incarnation of the star full of holes.

    • Megingjord Mjolnir + Disaster Carnage: fusion of enhanced strength and intermolecular bonds decomposition. Under authority of Sphere Bringer miasma of crimson demon doesn’t eat only matter, but even flames of Sphere Saviour. Meanwhile converged light of Mjolnir is now comparable to meteor and forcibly turns opponent in defensive position, breaking all forms of compatibility with simple force that reaches hundreds of tons.

    • Tuatha De Danann Brionac + Glacial Period: the avalanche of lightning sews enemy’s body in place which is then bombarded with contradictory attack of absolute zero heat rays. One by one they cause ice flowers to bloom in space, enveloping and imprisoning the target in cage of super-low temperature.

    • Silverio Cry + Venomhag Abyssal Scylla: explosive water current collides with vibrating ice flowers turning into powerful wave of water. Originally, both abilities were focused on skill rather than power, but with supply of Sphere’s output it sublimated into powerful combination. Propagation of frozen rime rumbles like earthquake, increasing collapse rate of his enemy.

    • Adamansmith Kyklops + Mk.Braze Hyperion (+ Nuclear Thruster): flames are hardened to the limit and then used to fly. True union of offense and defense. By simultaneously activating Nuclear Thruster, Ash turns into flaming comet and makes head-on collision with his enemy.

      • Adamansmith Kyklops + Mk.Braze Hyperion (+ Nuclear Thruster) + Dead End Strayed: impact manipulation ability is added to fusion above. Finesse star steers destructive power from the contact point to any direction Ash desires. In this case, powerful flaming slash was transmitted to Helios’ body, rupturing his internal organs.

    • Silverio Trinity + Silverio Vendetta (x3): summoned poem of death synchronizes with Ash harem’s lament and devours all forms of light, fire and heat, trapping everything in the abyss of darkness. The more damage they take, the higher right to counterattack they receive, under concept of vendetta.

    • Howling Sphere Razer + Miserable Alchemist: Ash attaches darkness of Sphere Razer into powerful vortex of magnetism which can bend even dimensions. Combination of stars once belonging to best friends, hence this compatibility is among the highest possible. Binding of absolute magnetic field and darkness of starkiller influence all particles constituting Ash’s enemy and sew their limbs into invisible cross.

    • Howling Sphere Razer + Gamma-ray Keraunos: facing light of invincible saviour, Ash realized only one thing that can match density of his attack – light of immortal hero. Powerful gamma-rays converge anti-particles to the utmost limit and cut approaching wave of light as if it was straw. However, this time compatibility is the worst possible and backlash of this coexistence has ruptured several of Ash’s organs.

    • Silverio Trinity + Tuatha De Danann Brionac + Sacrifice Andromeda: Ash turns every metal into bomb, be it wapon, armor and even iron inside inside his opponent's body. Meanwhile, Brionac maximizes this power with its huge output and convergence, creating explosions of light that rupture his enemies from inside. This alone is a threat, but through remote teleportation Ash can specify spatial coordinates to send this combination directly inside designated target, bypassing all forms of physical protection and evasion. Using this Ash was able to simultaneously destroy hundreds of Fafnir soldiers. This form of coexistence is always available to Ash due to mutual love between him, Rain, Aya and Mistel.

    • Gamma-ray Keraunos + St.Stigma Elysium: holy saint’s stigma manifested through Sphere Bringer multiplies light of concept destruction in thousands of layers. It’s powerful enough to not only shatter black hole, but also outer space created by Amenokurato in a chain-like fashion, without leaving any trace. Although Gilbert’s affinity with Keraunos is low, his delusional fanaticism as the judgement sword of the supreme god is the highest, hence its power is also extraordinary.

    • Gamma-ray Keraunos + Sigurdbane Dainsleif: Ash creates giant rock dragon and then charges its entire body with gamma-rays. Enormous quantity of heat converges in its jaws which is then released as powerful blast of destructive light. The astronomical heat and shockwaves contained there are not only strong enough to wipe out tsunami of magma created by Amenokurato, but also shatter his virtual space. Due to its power rock dragon immediately self-destructs after firing.

    • Silverio Trinity + Gamma-ray Keraunos + various Asterisms: though spatial interference Ash completely seizes concept of distance, raining down countless abilities and light of causality destruction beyond dimensional boundary and from all directions. Because there's no longer any spatial restrictions from coordinates of his attacks and coordinates of their destination, not even Amenokurato can cope with this incessant assault.

    • Mk.Braze Hyperion + Raging Sphere Saviour: ideal fusion of two beings who were originally one. Thunder of fire falling from heaven, flames of light rushing across the ground - two shining swords charged with power of concept destruction sever every causality on their way and bisect world in the shape of cross. This attack was powerful enough to cut Amenokurato's fist-converged hypernova and erase his body without any trace.

  • Mk.Union Planetes: apex of enchantment where Ash attaches light of the stars throughout space. The swirling power contains plasma, vibrations, wind and lightning, magnetism, miasma of molecular decomposition, absolute zero and many more. Innumerable abilities are woven into the world itself without any interruption or cancellation. Storm of fire and tsunami of water make contact yet continue to coexist with each other, painting picture that is truly extraordinary. It’s a technique which reflects heart of the opponent and fuses it with the sword. Culmination of Ash’s struggle which allowed him to capture faster than light flames of Helios and cut him.

  • Network: unspecified ability of Ash said to be unique among all Spheres. Officially called mutual link function. According to Ash himself, by burning his own spirit as Sphere Bringer, remaking his body into living computer and connecting to processor of super high performance would allow him to put Yamato (high-dimensional beings who designed laws of physics in the current world) under control even more efficiently than Helios with Arcadia. Naturally, due to his pacifistic nature he will never use this ability on his own.

  • Apostles: people who share special bonds with Ash receive special rights from him which allow them to cross dimensional walls and fight with him side by side at farthest reaches of the universe, their affection connecting them beyond time and space. These rights are held only by Rain, Mistel and Aya. Nevertheless, due to nature of Sphere Bringer virtually everyone can connect to his Sphere and draw power from there. In that case they can only bring out abilities which conform to their own nature, unless Ash himself will enchant them with incompatible stars. Ash can even grant this privilege to those who can’t use Asterism at all and in wrong hands, this Sphere can steer evolution of mankind in whatever direction they want.
