Guyver is great

Background Information

The Guyver is a shonen manga with 32 volumes (so far) created by Yoshiki Takaya.

The Guyver itself is a symbiotic techno-organic (or biomechanical) device that enhances the capabilities of its host.

The series has two OVA's which were Out of Control in 1986 and The Guyver - Bio-Booster Armor in 1988. In 2005 it had it own anime series adapting chapters 1 - 59 (volume 10) of the manga.

There are also two live action movies that came out in the early 90's which is not too good critically speaking, but the second movie is a pretty decent flick.

The plot of The Guyver centers around the machinations of the mysterious Chronos Corporation, which secretly controls the governments of the world. Yearning to control suits of powerful alien armor known as "Guyver" (or Out of Control) leftover by the mysterious "Ancients," Chronos seeks out to destroy Sho Fukamachi and Agito Makishima, who have control of the Guyver armors I and III, respectively.

For Sho, this is a terrifying circumstance, as he is just an ordinary student that came across the armor and was possessed by it. Now he must fight for his survival alongside Agito, who is an uneasy alliance with his own plans at heart for Chronos.

Coming across the Zoalords and eventually, their master, Alkanphel, Sho and his band learn the terrifying truth of the origins of humanity, and Chronos' plans for it.

In Part II, Sho must battle various Zoalords, as Chronos' control has become official. Through their promotion of humans, awakening as fighters known as Zoanoids (which they had kept secret before), their plans for humanity creeps closer to fruition.

Standing in the Battledome

As a verse, it is above the likes of Yu Yu Hakusho, s-CRY-ed, and Battle Angel Alita.

This is thanks to Alkanphel (a small planet buster in his own right), several characters who can easily destroy cities, several characters with massively hypersonic speed and relativistic reaction times, some powerful broken abilities to boot, and nukes.
