Background Information:

Starcraft is a computer game franchise created by Blizzard Entertainment. It consists of the original Starcraft game, the expansion pack Brood War, and the trilogy of Starcraft 2. There are also some novels and manga included in Starcraft. The races in Starcraft are the Terrans (Uprising Humanity), Protoss (Ancient Aliens), and the Zerg (Tyranids). There are also the Xel'Naga, who are basically your cliche "ancient uber race that got destroyed even though they were supposed to be so uber".

Despite the highly derivative setting, the Starcraft plot is not bad, and the gameplay is excellent. It is considered one of the all - time greatest PC games.

Standing in the Battledome:

In the OBD, Starcraft often gets raped by other scifi verses (particularly against Star Wars, Warhammer 40,000, Dune, Xeelee, Culture, etc), but does well against fantasy and miscellaneous universes. Calculations and quantifications for Starcraft are notoriously difficult to obtain, though, so its power is a little unclear in some areas. The Protoss can however, life wiper planets. The series has not been seriously examined in years, so things are a bit up in the air.
