Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Hazama-Ryu Kekkaijutsu: The Sumimura and Yukimura families use the Hazama-Ryu Kekkai Technique when they are faced with Ayakashi (demons) in order to create Kekkai. It is said by Shigemori Sumimura that this technique integrates utility and effectiveness of Kekkai abilities. The Hazama-Ryu Kekkaijutsu is used exclusively by the Kekkaishi of Karasumori.

  • Ketsu (Bind): Creates and activates the Kekkai.

    • Metsu (Destroy): Collapses a Kekkai, destroying what is trapped inside.
  • Kai (Release): Dispels the Kekkai without injuring the target trapped inside.
  • Tenketsu (Heavenly Hole): Opens a portal to another world and sends the shards of the enemy through to prevent regeneration. This technique requires using a shakujo, a Buddhist ringed staff, to perform it.
  • Sekkai (Untimely Interference): A technique used to destroy foreign Kekkai.
  • Shuufuku (Restoration Technique): Restoration art, repairs an object. Can be used in conjunction with Shikigami to repair numerous objects simultaneously.
  • Zekkai (Absolute Boundary): A technique that creates a unique Kekkai that surrounds the user; it allows the user to either repel an attack or harm an enemy. It appears as a black aura that varies in form depending on the skill of the user. Because it is created by the domination of negative feelings, it is recommended that it should not be used excessively. The Zekkai is Masamori's strongest and most infamous technique.
  • Musou (Thoughtless): A restricted access element for expert-level users of Hazama-Ryu Kekkaijutsu. It is a blank state of mind, where the user is uninfluenced by outside forces, and greatly increases the speed, power, and effectiveness of Kekkai. Mastering Musou consists of three steps: accessing the state, maintaining the state, and finally creating and successfully summoning a landlord, a clone that maintains the connection to the user's heart.

    • Ultimate Musou: Something that preserves an idea, yet stabilized Musuo's state, the ultimate form. If one can grasp the ultimate Musuo, then they become able to use pure power without being influenced by things like emotions. Thus increasing one's power in every way, allowing one to use their true strength. The process requires one to get into the right Musuo state and then maintain that state as much as they can, then finally bring forth their landlord. The landlord is clones of the user brought out in order to control their powers. In other words in the Musuo state one's senses are heightened to an unbelievable level. When one leaves everything up to a landlord, they will only use the power necessary for the situation. A state where one can bring out your power to the fullest, a landlord that can ideally put into order. Especially a landlord that will become a partner that can save you. However, once a landlord is brought forth it cannot be altered. The form is also fixed, so if one does it poorly it will be useless.

      • Kurohime: Kurohime is Masamori's landlord that can appear at his whim. She can sense other presences from at least up to tens of kilometers away.
  • Shikigami (Paper Mat): Paper dolls that obey the commands of the ability user applying power to them.
  • Nenshi (Sense Thread): A technique that creates a flexible, thread-shaped Kekkai. It is used for binding, capturing, and torture by squeezing. The nenshi comes out from the palm of the user.
