Will happily doom the world if you mess with his friends or family.

Weaknesses: Insanely violent towards Shades/Gestalts
Destructive Capacity: Planet level+ (Nier and Grimoire Weiss fought and restrained Halua/Emil’s sister so she could merge with Emil, who is responsible for Emil’s destructive powers. Emil reduced the Earth to a chunk of rock, which also caused it to detach from orbiting around the Sun in Ending Y from Nier Automata, and both Emil, Halua, and Grimoire Weiss magic come from the same source. 2B and 9S contributed against the defeat of a Watcher the False Idol/Her Inflorescence with the help of the Warrior of Light from FFXIV)
Range: Extended human melee range with melee weapons, hundreds of meters with Sealed Verses
Speed: FTL (fought against Beepy/P-33, who can process speed in nanoseconds, as fast as Emil and his clones who can fight YoRHa Androids like 2B, 9S, and A2 in Nier Automata who can react against particle beams and lasers, fought Popola and Devola, who are comparable to 9S who was able to react to an incoming EMP blast)
Durability: Planet level+
Lifting Strength: Class K+ (can wield Iron Will, a sword that grows heavier and heavier the more lives it takes. Has no problem-fighting Hook, Jack of Hearts, and Wendy gargantuan size Shades)
Striking Strength: Class XJ+
Stamina: High, can continue fighting with grievous injuries
Standard Equipment: A one-handed sword called Nameless Blade, a two-hand sword called Kusanagi, a spear called Transience, commonly depicted using a two-handed sword called Beastlord, and a variety of one-handed swords, two-handed swords, daggers, axes and spears. A sentient flying magical tome named Grimoire Weiss is the source of all of Nier's Sealed Verse magic.
Intelligence: Above average, is a skilled and experienced combatant, good at coming up with solutions at the last minute, and gets pretty resourceful at using his magic. Grimoire Weiss is a genius and brilliant tactician with vast knowledge on all subjects, although his ego can sometimes get the better of him.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Charge Attack: Charges his weapon that takes on an aura with elemental properties such as fire, lightning, holy, darkness, and earth to strike them down. Each different weapon takes on different auras, but weapons will sometimes share the same aura.
- Sealed Verse: Sealed Verses are powerful spells in the world of NIER and can be learned by Grimoire Weiss and therefore accessed by Nier with eight different spells that are listed below. They also grant Nier access to Words that are magical spells he can use to equip onto his weapons, skills, and magic spells to increase his overall stats and can cause status ailments such as poison, paralysis, confusion, life drain, magic drain and debuffs.
- - Dark Blast: Sends out a magic projectile, followed by a continuous array of smaller magic missiles, which are not powerful but fast. He can charge it, and if released, it'll send out a few homing missiles. He can also use it to fire wider magic projectiles that deal more damage.
- - Dark Lance: Forms a magic lance and shoots it with high speed toward the enemy. He can charge it up to make eight lances appear in a half-circle around himself and fire them off right after each other in a deadly barrage.
- - Dark Hand: Forms a huge dark hand above him to slam it down upon his enemies in an area of effect in front of him. It has limited range but deals the most damage out of any spells. It can also break armor, ripping apart almost every armor with a single punch while knocking back all but the mightiest enemies. He can charge up to five times, resulting in more damage, a larger radius and an even greater impact force. He can even summon huge arms that can reach a tremendous size, exceeding the size of the biggest Shades he encounters.
- - Dark Phantasm: Sends forth a rapid otherworldly crimson phantom of himself in a straight line, striking a single enemy in front of him that can also break the enemy’s armor. He can charge this so a ring will appear around himself, growing constantly bigger with Nier in the center; when released, each enemy within the border of the ring will be attacked by his copy, jumping from one enemy to another.
- - Dark Gluttony: Releases a short impulse in the form of four barriers around him, repelling any magic orbs nearby, which can harm enemies. When Nier charges it, it will suck up all red orbs around him and combines them into one giant orb that ravages through all enemies, knocking them back and destroying all projectiles, including the dark ones, in a straight line. The more orbs Nier has collected, the bigger it will be and the more damage it will deal.
- - Dark Wall: Creates a magical barricade that blocks enemy projectiles for a short period of time. The wall's size and duration depend on the charge level before it was created. If it is fully charged, it will create a moveable personal shell around Nier instead. The shield does not stop melee attacks.
- - Dark Execution: Summons magical spears from the ground to impale enemies around him. A single use without charging will cast a straight line of spears in front of him. The first level of charge will cast another line of spears behind him as well, whereas the second level of charge adds two additional lines to his left and right side, ending with the third level of charge, where he casts another two diagonally, for a total of six lines of spears, filling almost the around him in all directions.
- - Dark Whirlwind: Creates a spinning orb around himself for five seconds without charge, it will use up to four spinning blades around him if charged that lasts for fifteen seconds. If another spell is used during Dark Whirlwind's effect, the blades will fly away in the direction they are currently pointing at.
