Powers and Abilities: Super speed, agility, durability, is a genius, powerful resolve and is extremely experienced with guns and explosives, skilled marksman, manipulation over the Storm Flame attribute, using his Vongola Box Weapon Uri from the Sistema C.A.I. Gokudera can use the G-Archery to fire several arrows of the Storm Flame attribute to slowly disintegrate the target, can manipulate several other types of weapon with his Buckle of the Storm Version X

Intelligence: Hayato excels in his schoolwork and aces all his tests, often tutoring his less-skilled friends such as Tsuna and Yamamoto. Gokudera also bases a lot of his thinking and academic prowess on mathematical theories that he develops, all in all is a very intelligent fighter, usually making complex plans in order to defeat stronger opponents. An example of his intelligence is first seen when he technically defeats Belphegor (who was considered to be a genius), and is seen later again when he figures out how to use his flame arrow after only two attempts, completes the Sistema C.A.I. that his future counterpart had been developing, and is the first guardian to learn how to ride his motorcycle with some proficiency
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Storm Flame: A Flame red in color. Storm Flames hold the ability of Disintegration, this ability is considered one of the most dangerous of the Flames of the Sky due to its ability to cause a lot of damage to a target.
- Disintegration: Can induce anything that touches the them into decaying and breaking apart, including other Dying Will Flames.
- Sistema Cambio Arma Instantaneo: Or commonly referred to as Sistema C.A.I. is a set of 16 Box Weapons that can combine and quickly interchange between each other. The set is composed by 4 Storm-attribute Boxes, 2 Lightning-attribute Boxes, 4 Rain-attribute Boxes, 2 Sun-attribute Boxes and 4 Cloud-attribute Boxes.
- Contact Display: Contact lenses made with similar technology than those Tsuna uses with his X-Burner. They provide visual information that help Gokudera accurately aim at the enemy while taking into account environmental conditions such as wind, gravity and magnetic fields.
- Gokudera's Skull Rings: These skull-shaped Rings are core components of the Sistema C.A.I., they belong to the Rain, Lightning, Cloud and Sun attributes.
- Flame Missile: An explosive missile that Gokudera used against the Millefiore's Flame Teleportation System.
Storm Boxes
- Bone Loops: Multiple circles composed by small bone-like parts that expand themselves and float around once charged with Dying Will Flames. The space between the loops is filled with a screen of Storm Flames. Serves as shields and can be used to immobilize enemies by surrounding them like a prison. Can also be simultaneously charged with Flames of other attributes for compound effects.
- Flame Arrow: An arm-mounted ranged weapon that can shoot solid projectiles or Flames-based ones. Essentially the core of the Sistema C.A.I.'s offensive capacities.
- Storm Disc: A disc of Flames that Gokudera rides on top of. It uses Flame's propulsion to provide high-speed movement. It can hover above the ground, but actual flight is impossible.
- Gatto Tempesta (Storm Cat): This small cat is the only Box Animal in the Sistema C.A.I.. When bathed in Sun Flames, it grows into a leopard thanks to the Activation factor.
Rain Boxes
- Rain Tube: One of the Sistema C.A.I.'s special ammunition for the Flame Arrow, provides a coating of Rain Flames around the bursts of Storm Flames usually shot by the weapon. The Tranquility effect of the Rain Flames weakens enemy defenses, allowing the Storm Flames to breakthrough with its Disintegration factor.
Sun Boxes
- Sun Cartridge: One of the Sistema C.A.I.'s special ammunition for the Flame Arrow, it comes in a form similar to a machinegun's ammunition belt. It fires several solid projectiles covered with Sun and Storm Flames in quick succession. The Activation of the Sun Flames give the projectiles an irregular acceleration that confuses the enemy.
Cloud Boxes
- Cloud Tube: One of the Sistema C.A.I.'s special ammunition for the Flame Arrow, it fires a beam of Storm and Cloud Flames that divides itself in a "tree diagram"-like fashion due to the Cloud's Propagation factor, thus creating a widespread attack that is difficult to avoid.
Lightning Boxes
- Lightning Tube: One of the Sistema C.A.I.'s special ammunition for the Flame Arrow, it differs from the other Black Tubes with its more oval shape and four appendages similar to spider's legs. It fires a beam of Storm and Lightning Flames which is strengthened by the Solidification factor of the Lightning. Gokudera named this attack "Flame Thunder" and considers it the strongest available in the Sistema C.A.I.
- Vongola Storm Leopard: Named Uri, Uri can absorb Flames to a much greater degree than as a normal Box Weapon, adding to its attack power.
- Leopardo di Tempesta Version Vongola: A mode exclusive to the Vongola Boxes in which the Animal Box weapons are transformed into weapons used by the First Generation Vongola Family members. Concerning Gokudera, he gets a large bow and arrow.
- Cambio Forma: G's Archery: By Cambio Forma, Uri combines with the Flame Arrow to create an ornamented, bone-like bow with Storm Flames covering the drawstring and a gauntlet. Can increase the user's Normal Storm Flames Uri remains sentient in this form and is able to assist Gokudera with his aiming.
- Taienrankuga (Flame Storm Sky Fangs): A combined attack with Kangaryu and Alfin. Kangaryu shoots Uri with a Sun Bullet to increase its size and strength, while Alfin combines its Rain Flames with Uri's Storm Flames for greater destructive power.
- Buckle of the Storm Version X: The upgraded Vongola Storm Ring. The Buckle is a combination of the original ring with the Vongola Box Ring, Uri. With Gokudera's firm resolve, the ring transformed from a rock into the Buckle. Upon release, Uri is summoned, still in Cat Form with sunglasses on its forhead, armor on its paws and a belt around its waist. Upon Cambio Forma, these equipment enlarges, and takes its place around Gokudera.
- Cambio Forma: Version Vongola Gear: The Cambio Forma; with Uri Version X merging directing with Gokudera is now many straps of dynamite all around Gokudera's body, while forming armor on his legs and one arm, a pair of sunglasses, and a Piped-Shaped Igniter (used to light the dynamite). The new dynamite is now dubbed "Rocket Bombs Version X", are lit with Storm flames, which gives them faster speed, and have possess homing capabilities. Gokudera's sunglasses allow him to scan and analys when targetting (allowing for more accuracy with his bombs). Uri Version X, appears now to be made of storm flames, when he explosed's his tale becomes a fuse, counting down. Though after doing so he shrinks in size (showing how much flames he has left or can use). Gokudera called him his other half.
- Rocket Bomb Version X: Rocket Bombs that utilize Storm Flames for propulsion with increased speed, power, and homing capabilities.
- Air Bomb: Gokudera throws this bomb beneath him to allow him to leap great distances.
- Uri Bomb: Gokudera's secret weapon, Uri takes a form of a bomb with a fuse as its tail. This technique uses Uri's own flames causing Uri to shrink, which would last 3-4 days.
