Harry Potter, the cash cow of J.K. Rowling, is a series that started in Britain around 1997. It centers around the destined boy wizard Harry Potter and his battle with the evil lord Voldemort (He-who-must-not-be-named for die hard fans). The story takes place in Britain with wizards, warlocks and all manner of magical beasts living clandestinely along side normal human beings called "Muggles". It is one of the best-selling book series of all time.
Standing in the Battledome:
The Potterverse is gifted with various talents ranging from instant death kills to some level of precognition, dealing with subtle "utility" skills, such as shapeshifting, and teleportation, and benefits from the fact that its massive society affords a great deal of average value per fodder, however, due to their notable lack of speed and superhuman physical stats, and most of their spells having major drawbacks and weaknesses, as well as general incompetence, Harry Potter is not considered to be a very strong universe in the OBD even though it takes place in a modern day world.
Threads involving the Harry Potter universe usually involve it as a whole, or at the very least Hogwarts and points of interest include:
Dementors (Soul manipulation, invisible to all non magic users, immune to anything but a patronus charm)
Boggarts- Shapeshift into the opponents greatest fear, while having a mock version of their powers.
Basilisk- Giant snake creature who kills anything that comes into direct eye contact, and petrifies anything that looks at it indirectly or can't die. Its poison is also an extremely powerful magical weapon
Mind manipulation- Leggimency, Imperius, Curciatus
Giant Spider Army
Imperceptibility to all non magic users.
Limited time travel
Instant Global Teleportation
Transfiguration- The ability to animate things into life and to turn anything into anything else.
Anti - technology fields
Anti - teleportation fields.
Massive Bestiary - The fact that so many creatures have been documented and accordingly adjusted to allows many benefits when arguing against other fantasy series.
Having a reference on Doctor Who (more powerful than you think)
- Lord Voldemort
- Harry Potter
- Albus Dumbledore
