Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Body-Splitting Technique: Zetsu can divide his body in to two unique beings, one black and one white, which represent the two halves of his body. This technique allows the two entities who make up Zetsu to act independently. Once split, the two halves regrow their missing limbs and body mass.
- Mokuton (Wood Release): An advanced nature kekkei genkai that combines earth and water-based chakra natures to create wood or complete trees. This ability can also be used to create other aspects of trees, such as seeds or flowers. Wood Release techniques can be produced from anywhere, including the user's body, as the user's chakra is literally converted into a source of life.
- Mokuton: Underground Roots Technique: Zetsu can manipulate his body to transform it into tree roots. These roots can be used to bind or restrain, or can be used to trap and crush a target by growing and wrapping around them.
- Kagerō (Mayfly): This ability allows Zetsu to merge his body with earth and flora and travel at very high speeds. Once encased in his venus flytrap-like shell, Zetsu will use his chakra to let him phase in to the ground, connecting him to an underground network of organic matter such as plant roots. This method grants Zetsu the ability to travel vast distances undetected, as his presence is completely masked while in this state.
- Mayfly Communication Technique: While separated, the two halves of Zetsu can use the Mayfly technique to communicate from long distances by sending chakra signals through underground roots.
- Hōshi no Jutsu (Spore Technique): White Zetsu is able to plant spores, which cannot be detected by standard sensory abilities, onto the bodies of others. Once given chakra, these spores grow into clones of White Zetsu. The clones are able to wrap their bodies around the target they were planted on, either to restrict their movements or absorb their chakra.
- Kisei Bunshin (Parasite Clone): This technique allows White Zetsu to create clones of himself which he can control remotely. Unlike Kage Bunshin, these copies are not dispelled when they are dealt damage or maimed, nor will they dispell if the original user is killed. Several of these clones can merge together to form a large Zetsu with concentrated chakra.
- Narikawari no Jutsu (Substitute Technique): With this technique, Zetsu's clones can transform in to an exact copy of anyone they have ever come into physical contact with. The user of this technique becomes a nigh perfect physical duplicate, even possessing chakra identical to that of the one they are impersonating.
- Chakra Sensing Technique: A skill used by sensor type shinobi to detect a person's chakra signal.
