Background information:
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is the 4th canonical installment in the main series of games that makes up the MegaTen franchise by the developer, Atlus. The story is set as an unknown matter that months prior to your team's embarking to investigate, the size of a two centimeter sized cylinder has now covered several hundreds of kilometers around the center of Antarctica and is rapidly going larger. To make matters worse, this black hole like phenomena (named the Schwartzwelt) generates a several thousand meter plasma barrier or wall around its perimeter, atomically destroying and absorbing anything in its path. That's where the Protagonist and the Schwartzwelt's Strike Team step in. The United Nations assembled the best soldiers, mercenaries, technicians, engineers, scientists, researchers and crews around the world with the best minds to find a way to stop the Schwartzwelt from absorbing and destroying the world and humanity along with it. Outfitted with four massive all-terrain personal carriers capable of breaching the plasma barrier and traversing across the sky and equipped with the DEMONICA power suits to increase combat ability and exploration investigations, you set off to find a way to stop it from destroying the world.
However due to turbulence and the shifting natures of time and space, the four vessels; Red Sprite, Blue Jet, Elve, and the Gigantic are separated. The crew with Arthur, the sapient AI of the Red Sprite, discover the Schwartzwelt is divided into several different sectors - actual universes and must explore and defeat the main demon to gain their rare and exotic Forma to progress to the next sector's coordinates sequentially before they can encounter the main threat. Thanks to divine interference, the main Strike Team on the Red Sprite are not slaughtered after their first encounter with demons thanks to the Three Wise Men and given the Demon Summoning application/program in their DEMONICA suits.
Standing in the Battledome:
Naturally as part of the MegaTen family, SJ features extraordinarily supernatural situations which give rise to huge jumps in feats and powers. Like its predecessors, Strange Journey at its core focuses on humans who master and partner with demons to battle other supernatural or reality defining beings. While not the most powerful of the main title/flagship series which include SMT I, SMT II/, and SMT III: Nocturne; Strange Journey is damn powerful. Featuring the main antagonist being a multi-dimensional, multiversal abstract and incorporeal being who represents the spirit of the Earth, Mem Aleph. As well as later on battling a much more powerful fragment of the Supreme Being/God of the entire megaverse that makes up SMT, the series is powerful. It also includes beings who can not only warp reality, create universes, destroy dimensions, but also time-manipulators and world recreation. Overall, it's well above the vast majority of manga or anime series like HST, Power 6, Saint Seiya, JJBA, and so forth. After all, when you defeat a multiversal reality-warping being like Mem Aleph and face an aspect of an infinite God, you know shit's hit the fan.

- Mem Aleph created the Schwartzwelt multiverse & her weaker normal form is capable of indirectly influencing it with just her anger
- The Protagonist by the end of the game through his fully evolved DEMONICA suit is powerful enough despite its wearer being a relatively mortal human to be a threat to literally divine beings such as Empty Mem Aleph and Demiurge
- The DEMONICA suits are capable of gifting their wearers with superhuman strength, speed, durability, and somewhat reactive adaption with its continual experience in battle and fighting
- Jimenez punching through and prying open the hatch of the Lightning, an advanced ship capable of travelling through dimensions, after fusing with Bugaboo
- Angel Zelenin's voice reducing the members of Jack's Squad to mindless drones subservient to her
