Background Information
The President's Vampire is a series of urban fantasy books by Christopher Farnsworth. Imagine an earth where every story, and every nightmare has some grain of truth to it. A world where even believing in the superstitious, and the supernatural gives it a foothold. That gives it a way to enter our reality, and become fact. A way for things from the Other Side to cross over, and bring anarchy with them. This is that earth, and the only thing that stands in the way of our gruesome demise is not a man but a monster. A creature of the night sworn into the service of the Presidents of the United States of America. These are the stories of Nathaniel Cade, the most guarded secret in the White House. As he faces that which would bring about the apocalypse, and signal the end of humanity.
There are five entries in the series:
1. Blood Oath
5. Deep State
Standing in the Battledome
So far, the series has the potential to be exceptionally dangerous. As by the very nature of the setting every piece of fiction has the probability of becoming fact. It's a melting pot of many different genres, and so far we know all of H.P Lovecraft's works have actually happened in it. Nathaniel Cade was even responsible for destroying the Deep Ones, and Innsmouth. As well as being involved with Wilbur Whateley, and his brother (namely, in the latter's destruction). As well as fighting The Thing, and stopping the Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Heck, he even fought the Gill-Man from Creature from the Black Lagoon. As well as the Boogeyman whose hosts include a certain someone from Camp Crystal Lake (yes, it's Jason Voorhees).
In it we have numerous creatures that can move faster than sound, like werewolves. At the top of the food chain we have vampires, and vampire kings. The both of which are veritable one man armies. Nathaniel Cade stands out the most among them, and is something of a monster that monsters fear. There are witches, and wizards. Sorcery exists, and it is practiced by many famous figures from real life such as Aleister Crowley and Marie Laveau. There are as many branches of it as you might expect on an earth where anything can be true, or become truth.
In terms of technology it is above modern day earth, and there exists elixirs of immortality. The mass production of mutagenic retro viruses that are described as demonic possession on a cellular scale. The production, and more varied use of depleted uranium as ammunition. The latter to the extent you can get access to DU buckshot for shotguns. A greater understanding of psychic warfare, and the use of the Other Side in creating super soldiers. There are potions that can grant invisibility. As well as ways to bring the deceased back to life as weapons of mass destruction that can destroy cities, known as unmenscholdats. Then there are the natives of the Other Side which include the likes of the Boogeyman. Whose true size is comparable to that of a continent, and it is able to distort reality around it.
As a whole it is above the likes of Baki the Grappler but it can fight far above its weight class thanks to a combination of some pretty decent speed, and exotic abilities.
