Volume 1, featuring Arale. |
Background Information
Dr. Slump is a Japanese gag manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. It featured the adventures of an inept inventor and his android daughter Arale in Penguin Village, and Dr. Slump is filled with puns, sexual references, and bathroom jokes, and parodies of both Japanese and American culture. The series uses toonforce and has a bunch of other crazy feats like "implausible" events such as the earth being cut in half (in a comedic fashion). While the characters in Dr. Slump exist as cameos in the Dragon Ball universe, it not really canon to the series since Dr. Slump itself is not meant to be taken seriously, as it contains references to the real world. It is debatable at best whether the Dragon Ball universe is truly compatible with the world portrayed in Dr. Slump.
Standing in the Battledome
Toonforce. That is all. If Arale's feats were to be taken seriously she could probably solo most of Akira Toriyama's most successful series, Dragon Ball.
