Standard Equipment: Her Pactio artifact, a ragged old cloth that covers her body, allowing her to disappear along with the cloth into a fully-equipped house in another dimension, Kunais, paper charms, a giant shuriken that's bigger than her.
Intelligence: Good in combat, but pretty dumb academically. She's one of the top 5 dumbest students in Negi's class. Her nickname is Baka Blue. She gets better grades when she tries though. However she is one of the most skilled fighters in her group to the point that she could defeat a dragon blindfolded as training.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Oborojuuji (Hazy Cross): Kaede along with multiple clones simultaneously attack her enemy in a cross like pattern. attacking all four sides of the target at once. Using this technique with 16 clones allow Kaede to break through Quintum's Mandala Esque Barrier.
- Barrier Break: The ability to break the barrier of her opponent, leaving them open for attack.
- Shundou (Instant Movement): By focusing qi or mana into the feet, the practitioner can cross a limited distance – 3 to 7 metres for a beginner – in a burst of extreme speed (enough to appear almost instantaneous). However, unlike true teleportation, the movement itself can be intercepted, and the exit point calculated; once began, the technique cannot be stopped. It must also be performed on some sort of foothold or surface. Note that Shundou is just a generic term for the many variations of similar techniques in many different martial art styles.
- Shukuchi: Kaede own version of Shundou base on the idea of shrinking the distance between herself and her target.
- Shukuchi Mukyou: A long-distance form of Shukuchi.
- Kokuu Shundou (Void Instant Movement): Instead of using a fixed surface, the practitioner simply uses ‘air’ (space) as a foothold. As this can be performed in mid-air, movement in any direction is possible, eliminating the base weaknesses of Shundou. Not quite the equivalent of flight, but a necessity in high-level battles.
- Kage Bunshin (Shadow Clones): Kaede creates multiple clones (16 is her known limit), which can have almost the same density, mass and strength as her real body (her limit for this last was 4 clones, before undergoing training).
- Kage Nui (Shadow Sewing): By placing her kunais into her oppenent's shadow Kaede can bing her enemy.
- Henge (Transformation): Kaede is able to change her appearance to that of anyone she chooces, as well as make herself look younger.
- Sleep Charm: A charm which can cause an oppenent to fall sleep.
- Bakusa Bakuenjin (Binding Chain Eruption): Kaede creates several clones which bind the enemy with their shuriken chains, then creating an explosion through the multiple charms all over the chains.
- Tenma Fukumetsu Bakusa Chimoujin (Demon Annihilation Binding Array): What appears to be a more extreme version of Bakusa Bakuenjin, Kaede first stoppeds her enemy's movement by impaling him/her with her shuriken and places several other shuriken all connected by chains around her target in a circular fashion, then she detonates the multiple explosive charms place on the chains creating a large explosion.
- Ki blast: A form of ki blast that is similar to Naruto's Rasengan. All her clones are capable of doing the attack at the same time.
- Tengu no Kakuremino: A cloak that can be used for camouflage/invisibility purposes. While underneath the cloak, Kaede is in another plane of reality which includes a house, complete with a kitchen. Aside from stealth and travel, Kaede's artifact has other clever uses, such as absorbing enemy attacks or catching someone who is falling in midair. Her artifact appears to be based on a folk tale of the same name. Kaede is the ninth student to make a provisional contract with Negi.
