Background Information

FLCL, or Fooly Cooly, is an anime series co - produced by Gainax and Production I.G, created and written by Kazuya Tsurumaki and Yoji Enokido. The plot is mostly nonsensical, and involves things such as giant robots growing out of people's foreheads (a metaphor for penis? Only Freud knows for sure), people hitting giant baseballs into space with guitars, and people's eyebrows falling off. However, it is coherent enough to be debatable, and there are several impressive feats, such as cutting apart a barrage of machinegun fire with surgical knives, a Vespa scooter that moves at lightspeed, and a being that can telekinetically steal entire solar systems.

FLCL is difficult to place overall, although individual characters are very powerful.
