Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Hyōi Gattai: This shamanic technique enables the shaman to integrate spirits into their body, forming a "unity" of both, their spirit and that of the ghost. The shaman would enter a special trance which enables them to synchronize their spirit with that of the ghost, allowing the ghost to possess their body and enabling the ghost to interact with the physical world. Furthermore, once integrated, the shaman takes on the knowledge & wisdom of the ghost as well as their personality.
- Over Soul: Placing a soul into a medium to achieve greater fighting strength.
Throughout the manga Ryu continuously develops his O.S. having shown 3 different forms in total.
- O.S. Tokagero-Bokutō: This is Ryu's first Over Soul, made by integrating Tokagero's ghost with his bokutō. This O.S. provides Ryu with much needed protection in the form of shoulder armor and prehensile, snake-like tendrils that are used to bind enemies as well as defend against attacks. Originally, this O.S. manifested as armor, turning Tokagero into a shield bearing his likeness, before being re-imagined.
- Hell Dragon Crimson Lizard: A simple downwards slash with the Over Soul cutting something in half.
- Hell Dragon Scarlet Lizard: A cross slash with Over Soul that cuts up an opponent
- Yamata No Orochi (Hachi Shi No Orochi): By manifesting the river spirit into Tokagero, Tokagero grows long snakes out of his hair and will eventually use this for an attack. It creates a large white spirit ball around the Bokutō and sprouts the heads of the Yamata No Orochi that can then crush any opponent with a spear like thrust attack of its head.
- O.S. Yamata No Orochi Go: Orochi provides all the advantages of the previous form, but in the form of an Eight-headed serpent, yielding far greater ferocity and power. Once a Seirei-class spirit, this evolved O.S. transforms Tokagero into the fearsome “Yamata-no-Orochi Go”, a gigantic O.S. which places Tokagero as the rider of a humongous, 4-wheeled motorcycle monstrosity with eight humongous serpents heads, looming over an over sized replica of Tokagero's headguard. This O.S. variation, aside from its naturally high defenses, is surprisingly mobile.
- Super Attack (Chariot Attack): This attack involves using the multiple heads of the O.S. to grab and crush any object.
- O.S. Sushi Knife Susanoro: An Armor-type O.S. made from integrating Tokagero's ghost with Ryu's Ame-no-Murakumo bokutō. The O.S. takes the form of a giant sushi knife with Tokagero's signature headguard visible over the hilt that has a golden dragon insignia on it. It forms shoulder armor created over Ryu's right arm, two armor rings on his left arm, and a purple skirt armor on his right leg.
- Ultra Sabaki (Urutora Sabaki): A cutting technique where he slashes his opponent in half vertically then proceeds to slash them several times horizontally all in the blink of an eye, like it was sushi he was cutting. Sabaki also refers to a fighting style called Tai Sabaki that uses all of the body's movements referring to the way Ryu uses all of his skills when fighting, combining his street fighting style with his Shamanic abilities.
