The laziest motherfucker you'll ever see |
Name: Yoh Asakura
Origin: Shaman King
Gender: Male
Classification: Human Shaman
Age: 14, much older by end of manga
Powers and Abilities: Super strength, speed, durability, endurance, agility, dexterity, skilled swordsman (having performed Hyōi Gattai with Amidamaru several times Yoh grew to learn the way of a swordsman and with that Amidamaru's best techniques), Furyoku, the ability to shield himself with any Over Soul created with Amidamaru as a spirit, as a shaman he can see and communicate with spirits and use them to aid him in battle, the ability to create metal, Furyoku nullification (through equivalence this should work on anyone with any sort of spiritual energy), a small level of gravity manipulation whilst using the Spirit of the Earth, is able to remain calm in almost any situation (a testament to this was in one of his battles against Ren where by him remaining calm he was able to break Ren's confidence and mental security, something key in maintaining a powerful Over Soul), more or less precognition over people with some sort of spiritual energy by reading the flow of the energy itself (the energy equivalence means this counts for anyone with spiritual based power e.g. Reiatsu, Chakra etc.)
Weaknesses: None notable
Destructive Capacity: Small building level with Hyōi Gattai | Small building level+ with O.S. Amidamaru, building level with O.S. Amidamaru V.2, building level+ with O.S. Amidamaru, Big Over Soul | At least building level+ with O.S. Amidamaru Spirit of the Sword and O.S. Amidamaru Byakkou | At least building level+, likely higher with O.S. Amidamaru Byakkou | Multi city block level+ with the S.O.E. (however, as all his major feats took place in the G.S. itself there is no solid proof to come to the conclusion he can produce feats of the exact same level in the real world, although it was stated that in the G.S. it was a battle of willpower, in such worlds it has never been the case where a character couldn't perform feats they couldn't otherwise out of that realm, nor were any of these feats out of the ordinary for a spirit of this level)
Range: Depends entirely on the O.S. used
Speed: Superhuman+ with Hyōi Gattai | Faster than the eye can see+ | Supersonic+ reactions and attack speed | Supersonic+ | At least supersonic+, possibly higher
Durability: Small building level | Small building level+ | At least building level+ (blocked a blast from Golem using O.S. Amidamaru V.2, and even took a direct blast afterwards) | At least building level+ (tanked some lightning attacks from Ren) | Multi city block level+ via powerscaling (Hao with his S.O.F. could apparently survive a 1000 ton bomb)
Lifting Strength: Superhuman
Striking Strength: Class KJ+ | Class KJ+ | Class MJ+ | Class MJ+ | Class MJ+
Stamina: Extremely large, wondered through a cave without light for seven days and nights without food or water and came out fine
Standard Equipment: Harusame (a katana) and the Futsu-no-Mitama no Tsurugi (called an "antiquity" in the English dub and used to create his O.S.), his main spirit Amidamaru and the S.O.E.
Intelligence: Average human intelligence, genius in battle (can think up strategies on the fly, was also able to figure out 100% Acceptance after seeing Ren use it)
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Ko-Oni Strike: This is one of the Asakura clan's onmyôji magic. With this magic, an onmyôji can summon shikigami -- familiar spirits -- from leaves or bits of paper to do their bidding. They are useful, from household chores to assassinations. Yoh never truly mastered shikigami magic but displayed the capacity to use it at age 10, under tutelage of his grandfather, Yohmei Asakura. At best, he could only invoke three shikigami from the leaves. Overall, however, this is a minuscule technique compared to Yoh's more advanced shaman magic.
- Okyō: A sutra taught to him by Anna. It is a Buddhist exorcism chant of the Sankiraimon, or the Three Refuges that would send any spirit with knowledge of Buddhism who hears it to the hereafter. However, as it is a written language media, the sutra mainly works on spirits whom identify with the culture of eastern shamanism. Yoh eventually discovered this during his entry exam against Silva, nearly sending Amidamaru to heaven.
- Hyōi Gattai: This shamanic technique enables the shaman to integrate spirits into their body, forming a "unity" of both, their spirit and that of the ghost. The shaman would enter a special trance which enables them to synchronize their spirit with that of the ghost, allowing the ghost to possess their body and enabling the ghost to interact with the physical world. Furthermore, once integrated, the shaman takes on the knowledge & wisdom of the ghost as well as their personality. Though it is unknown when Yoh learned this technique.
- 100% Acceptance: A technique used in Hyōi Gattai where by both the spirit and the shaman gain one hundred percent power.
- Chō Senji Ryakketsu - Fumon Tonkou: One of many spells Yoh learned from the contents of the Ultra Senji Ryakketsu that Anna brought to him from Master Yohmei. Using this spell enables one to read the flow of Furyoku and determine its course. Effective use can render most magical attacks ineffective.
- Chō Senji Ryakketsu - Mikazuka no Harae: This was a secret exorcist magic left to Yoh by Matamune, to help vanquish the Oni that Anna created. However this magic depleted the reserve Furyoku within Matamune, and as a result, sent him to the hereafter.
- Over Soul: Initially, Yoh learns how to create the magical Over Soul indirectly during his battle with the Shaman Fight officiant, Silva. By integrating Amidamaru's spirit with that of his sword, Harusame, and subsequently, the heirloom antiquity, the Futsu-no-Mitama no Tsurugi, Yoh forges the ethereal Over Soul. This shamanic technique quickly becomes Yoh's quintessential mode of shamanic combat and his most versatile tool.
Throughout the manga Yoh continuously develops his original O.S. having shown 5 different forms in total.
- O.S. Amidamaru: Yoh's first ever Over Soul. The basic characteristics of this O.S. resembles Amidamaru's Spirit Flame form, with the samurai's shoulder guards present while an effigy of Amidamaru burns over Harusame at the O.S.'s nucleus. This primary form can be freely modified to best meet Yoh's needs. Due to it's inherent flexibility, it can form two large shields for defense.
- O.S. Amidamaru V.2: An improvement on Yoh's first Over Soul. Amidamaru's shoulder guard and arm shield materialize over Yoh's right arm, providing more protection. Amidamaru can now act freely and this O.S. is more material than its predecessor.
- O.S. Amidamaru, Big Over Soul: The O.S. Amidamaru changed entirely; resulting in the near-complete materialization of Amidamaru himself (consisting of his upper body and a single sword). This form of his O.S. enabled Amidamaru to wield Harusame personally, allowing him to utilize his skills firsthand. By adding the "Futsu-no-Mitama no Tsurugi" Yoh can make Amidamaru wield two swords.
- Amida-Style: Shockwave Buddha-Slash (Amidamaru: Shinkuu Buddha-giri): The signature technique developed by Amidamaru when he was still alive. Its principal use is to strike at adversaries beyond the range of his sword. Essentially, it breaks the air with a slash and forces out a powerful shockwave at the adversary.
- Amida-Style: Halo Blade (Amidamaru: Gokōjin): Amidamaru's most revolutionary technique. It is a dual-sword battō-jutsu technique executed from his unique and legendary fighting stance, called Tathagata. During execution, both swords are unsheathed at incredible speed at dead-range of the adversary, unleashing a strike with enough power to bust an adversary to shreds.
- O.S. Spirit of Sword: After studying the Cho Senji Ryakketsu, Yoh forges his most revolutionary OS; integrating the seirei-class Amidamaru O.S. (Amidamaru inside Harusame) through the Futsu-no-Mitama no Tsurugi to create the gigantic double-medium Over Soul, "Spirit of Sword." This is a sword-shaped O.S. which hardens Yoh's Furyoku into the shape of a blade and explosively increases its lethality, enabling it to cut through any form of Furyoku. Yoh can also shoot the blade of the O.S. in accelerated length by pumping more Furyoku into it.
- Amida-Style: Grand Halo Blade (Amidamaru: Dai Gokōjin): The advanced form of the normal Gokōjin. Using the normal, 'Over Soul'-ed Gokōjin as a primer, and powered by Amidamaru's newly-acquired seirei-class powers, this high-level technique focuses Furyoku and destroys anything with a decisive strike of cutting Furyoku waves using his Over Soul "Spirit of Sword".
- O.S. Spirit of Sword: Byakkou: A variation of Yoh's S.O.S. (Spirit of Sword) Over Soul. A double-medium O.S. composed of various, interchangeable panels of armor, which orbit Yoh for protection. The O.S. itself embodies Yoh's need for practicality, making the most of his two mediums; the Futsu-no-Mitama no Tsurugi, in the left hand, serving as the source of the O.S. while Harusame facilitating the medium in his right hand, materializing the orbital armor and a giant shirasaya Over Soul. The two portions respond in concert to every one of Yoh's movements, making it far more efficient than any other of his previous Over Souls. Its unique construction creates a tremendous concentration of mana, giving the O.S. undeniable power.
- Amida-Style: The Absence of Ignorance (Amidamaru: Mu Mu Myoyakumu): The ultimate technique of Yoh's "Byakkou" Over Soul, conceived during his venture into the underworld. In essence, it's a powerful thrust of the Over Soul's sword which "purifies the very soul". The configuration of the OS and mana released during this technique resembles that of swan taking flight.
Yoh later receives the Spirit of Earth which dwarfs all his previous O.S.' in power completely.
- O.S. S.O.E. (Spirit of Earth): Yoh's final and most powerful O.S. It is unknown if a medium is needed for this or not.
- Attraction: This attack relies upon the principle of using the significant gravitational forces generated by the real Earth's large mass, to attract anything towards the Spirit of Earth, altering the trajectory of incoming attacks to avoid damage. As such, the technique acts as an effective defensive move, even protecting from the large number of meteors that the O.S. Great Spirit can produce.
- Earthquakes: Yoh has the ability to create earthquakes when using the S.O.E. (Spirit of Earth).
- Inverse Gravity: This technique has enough power to reverse the pull of a mini black hole.
