The original Puella Magi Holy Quintent. |
Background Information
If anyone cares, THIS PAGE CONTAINS MASSIVE SPOILERS THAT ARE IN RED.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (also known as Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica) is an original anime that follows the story of a middle school student named Madoka Kaname, not knowing that her karma from previous doomed timelines has given her immense magical potential. Adolescent girls can form a contract with an alien named Kyubey who will to grant them any wish at the cost of them becoming magical girls. Magical girls leave their physical bodies and become living zombies, while their spirit is transformed in to a Soul Gem. Most girls keep their Soul Gem on their body, since long distance renders their bodies lifeless. They can only be killed if their Soul Gem is destroyed. In exchange for their wish, magical girls must forever fight witches, which are the manifestation of negative energy that create suicides and tragedies (later revealed to be corrupted magical girls). To regenerate their Soul Gem, magical girls must kill these witches, or else they will suffer the same fate. Kyubey harvests the magic power generated from magical girls becoming strong witches as a method to stop universal entropy. There is also two spin off manga called Puella Magi Oriko Magica and Puella Magica Kazumi Magica which are canon. Puella Magi Suzune Magica now exists as a spin-off as well. And now the Wraith Arc spin-off was created to fill the gap between the series and the third movie. There are many other spin-offs as well including Puella Magi Tart Magica and others. There are currently three movies, and a fourth movie is currently in the works. Most recently, a mobile game known as Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record has been released, which is canon to the main series like the majority of the spin-offs for the franchise.
Standing in the Battledome
The Puella Magi franchise overall is among the higher tier anime/manga universes out there, although the gap between the top/god tiers and high tiers is absurdly great. Lower tier magical girls and witches are massively hypersonic+ and town level, mid tier magical girls are relativistic to relativistic+ and island level to island level+ while top tier magical girls and witches are at least relativistic+ and moon level to at least large planet level. Top/god tiers, which are only three confirmed so far, are multiverse level+ and omnipresent across space and time on a similar scale as they hold godly power to influence the Puella Magi multiverse that encompasses infinite timelines that are each their own universe along with the World of Witches, the original multiverse prior to Ultimate Madoka's cosmic rewrite which has been isolated into nonexistence. To add to that, there is an entire alien race known as the Incubators who possess superlatively advanced technology capable of miraculous feats such as manipulate magic, contend with powerful magical girls or witches and, on one occasion, accidentally created the aforementioned multiverse level+ entity... however, they are very prep reliant otherwise and aren't much of fighters themselves.
The 'verse is quite hax as well as being similarly resistance to large amounts of hax to boot. This includes, but not limited to mind manipulation, soul manipulation, absorption of different varieties, time manipulation/travel, spatial manipulation, dimensional manipulation/BFR, causality manipulation, illusion creation, comceptual manipulation, reality warping and so on.
