Background Information
The Hercules/Xenaverse began in 1994 with a series of movies showcasing the adventures of Hercules. These movies became the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys series that premiered in 1995 and ran until the end of 1999. The first season of Hercules introduced the character of Xena, who became popular enough to receive a spin-off show related to her own adventures: Xena: Warrior Princess. The shows follow the adventures of Hercules, Iolaus, Xena, and Gabrielle as they fight to right wrongs and rid the world of evil, at times opposing the gods themselves.
In addition to the two main shows, there is an animated movie: Hercules and Xena: The Battle for Mount Olympus, a prequel show called Young Hercules (which starred a young Ryan Gosling), and a number of comics and video games.
The series is notable for its blending of history and myth, and though it has been mentioned to take place around 500 B.C., it is not set in any precise historical time that we would recognize. Several noted historical and mythological figures appear, such as Julius Caesar (Karl Urban), Genghis Khan, Herodotus, David, Goliath, King Arthur, and many more.
At any rate, you probably remember this show if you were a 90's kid.
Standing in the Battledome
The series is powerful, with a panoply of immortal gods, weapons, and other characters with broken abilities including time manipulation, mind and soul manipulation, and other reality warping powers. Some characters such as Zeus, Hera, and Poseidon can cause storms and earthquakes and are likely citybusters at minimum. The Fates are capable of destroying Earth with such force that the kinetic energy is nearly at sun busting levels. Then there is Dahak, who can boil away entire oceans, cause solar eclipses by his presence, and was described as having an abstract nature. The implied equal and opposite counterpart to Dahak is the mysterious God of Love, who likely created the universe at the least.
The series takes place in a multiverse as well, all with multiple dimensions.
