Powers and Abilities: Super strength, speed, durability, endurance, agility, PSI ("the power of thought", PSI is a power that everyone has, but just lies dormant until awakened), can use the three primary areas of PSI (Rise, Burst and Trance), PSI users are able to momentarily focus their five senses to incredible degrees by placing tremendous stress on the brain cells, enhanced sight, hearing, mental endurance, healing and reflexes all as a product of PSI, PSI enables the use of various different psychic abilities: telekinesis/pschokinesis and telepathy (can be used over significant distance), mind-reading and the ability to reflect and nullify PSI using his unique PSI ability: Shinra-Banshou

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

- PSI: Also known as ESP, PSI is the ability to manipulate the surroundings using the power of the mind by using the brain's full capacity instead of only a part of it. Based on three primary areas: Rise (self-strengthening), Burst (rending waves) and Trance (thought waves).

• Burst: Changes thoughts into physical waves that release their effects on the targeted surroundings. Moving things without touching them (telekinesis) or lighting things on fire (pyrokinesis) are applications of "Burst".
  
  

• Trance: Involves things like telepathy, which allows the user to influence the inside of a person's mind. Also described by Amamiya as a way to counter Burst.
  
  

• Rise: The power to strengthen one's natural senses, grants the user superhuman physical abilities and also promotes faster healing.
  
  
  • Sense-Type Rise: This type increases either any one of the 5 senses or all of the 5 senses of the user (sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch) to extraordinary levels and also increases the user's reflexes.
    
    
  • Strength-Type Rise: This type focuses on the user's physical body, increasing the body's physical strength, speed and endurance. It can simply be referred to as Super Human Strength.
    
    
  • Healing-Type Rise: This type ties into Strength-type but focuses more towards the body's endurance. When trained properly, the user can reduce the amount of damage being taken and how long it will take for their body to recover from damage such as a large cut or bruise. There are also other types of people who can "share their rise to another person and heal their body instead of their own".

- Shinra-Banshou: Meaning Heavenly Subjugation of All Creation, Shao's Shinra-Banshou has the ability to Nullify and Redirect PSI fired at him, making him untouchable by Burst. Shao had to learn Burst Stream to control this power but it has not been seen going out of control so the reason for Shao learning Burst Stream is unknown. Shao must use Shinra-Banshou's Trance version to sense the PSI flow so he can Nullify/Redirect it.

• Onmyou Shinra: In the future Shao has the ability takes create twin snakes, one white and one black, respecting Yin and Yang. This ability is also a collaboration of Burst and Rise, as yang gives Rise to yin and yin gives Rise to yang. As both the snakes are made mostly form Shao's Burst they both have the Nullification/Redirection ability. Fused with the Rise allows the Yin-Yang snakes to sever the connection between the attack and the caster through their mind, nullifying the attack completely. To use this technique Shao must fully understand his opponent's ability or the technique won't work.
  
  
• Shinra-Banshou (Trance): Shao uses this ability to see/sense the flow of PSI in the immediate area which leaks out of the opponents body to Shao as Trance thought waves. Using this Shao's opponents unknowingly give away their location, targets, attacks and every thought that comes to their mind to make a perfect counter attack.

- Mind Jack: Shao was once shown using mind jack to communicate with the Elmore Wood children, Elmore Tenjuin and Ageha.

• White Fu-Chi (Wind-Guided Eight Seal White Snake): Shao creates a little white PSI snake that can track people by scent of the mind over a large distance. When it gets the scent it will grow wings and fly to the target while Shao will follow. Shao has a telepathic link with Fu-Chi, allowing them to communicate with each other.
