Background Information

Fist of the North Star or Hokuto no Ken is completed shonen manga series with 27 volumes created by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara.

There also several completed anime/OVA/movies series too.

The Kyukyokuban series {Ultimate Edition) are a fully collected edition of the series with 18 volumes with many redrawn scenes, several high quality colored covers/images, etc.

There is also a prequel known as Fist of the Blue Sky/Souten no Ken.

The novel Jubaku no Machi (The Cursed City) is a sequel of the Hokuto no Ken series and is set after the end of the series. (The OVA series known as Shin [New] Hokuto no Ken adapts that novel story)

The completed 5 anime movies series known as Shin Kyuseishu Densetsu (The Legends of the True Savior) are remakes of several major events/arcs of the series with HD animation quality and include additional details, new characters, etc.

There are several gaiden series too, but mostly these are the gaiden series which have connection with the main series and include several important story wise informations too:

- Rei Gaiden
- Toki Gaiden

It is overall considered to be one of the all - time classic shonen mangas, and is credited with giving Shonen Jump much of its popularity.

Many contemporary mangakas were inspired by FOTNS as children.

The story follows Kenshiro, a martial artist and successor to the deadly Hokuto Shinken fighting style, which can destroy an opponent internally by hitting their pressure points.

Fist of the North Star is also known for the fact that it is one of the utter epitomes of being badass.

- See Juza, Toki, Raoh, Ryuken, Kenshiro, Rei, Souther, Shachi, Shuu, Han, Juukei, Ryuga, Ein, Fudo, and many others but mostly just for Ryuken.

Standing in the Battledome

The verse has several at least small town level+/town level+ characters and city level/island level for the upper high tiers and top tiers, with hypersonic+ and MHS speed.

They also have several deadly superhuman martial art techniques which are considered to be broken (especially the ultimate Hokuto Shinken technique, Muso Tensei) which can ignore conventional durability or can pretty much knock out, or inflict massive damage or even fully destroy their opponents, when they connect.

 As a verse, they're above the likes of Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Hunter x Hunter.
