Powers and Abilities: Skilled warrior (can adapt to techniques seen or suffered once through observing the components of the attack), through Cosmo and the 7th sense has super strength, speed, and durability, telepathy, telekinesis (molecular level, he's one of the best psychics of his generation and paralyzed Mu on the spot), teleportation, energy blasts, forcefields,levitation/flight, dimensional travel, generation of sunlight into attacks, astral projections from other dimensions, higher senses to track people over long distances and through dimensions and compensate the loss of physical ones. When acquiring the 8th sense has total control of his body and soul in the realm of death, allowing him to revive himself. Can also repair and regenerate the damage or destruction dealt to Saint Cloths.

When serving Hades he wore an Aries Surplice that should at least partially replicate the durability of the original
Intelligence: Centuries of experience as a Gold Saint, fought in the last Holy War against Hades before the main story, skilled combatant and strategist.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Crystal Wall: An invisible (for regular senses) barrier that can deflect physical and energy attacks back to his enemies, repel dimensional rifts and isolate Shion from a variety of attacks. It can also telekinetically crush enemies getting within Shion's vicinity. It can be broken by a powerful enough enemy with special senses detecting and attacking its Cosmo layout weakpoint. In The Lost Canvas he could shape it as a cube construct around his enemies to trap them and contain their Gold Saint level attacks
- Stardust Revolution: Creates and shoots a powerful meteorite rain at high speeds
- Athena Exclamation: The strongest Gold Saint technique, it can only be performed by a trio of Gold Saints elevating their Cosmo to an extreme level at the same time into a single spot, emulating the Big Bang in a lesser scale

- Sekishiki Tenryou Ha: Shion uses the Meikai Ha (Underworld Waves) to summon the souls of the dead Saints and attack the enemy with a powerful blast. (Hakurei used it to seal the god Hypnos)
