Chrono trigger
The cast of Chrono Trigger

Background Infomation

Chrono Trigger is a video game of the SNES era, and held to be one of the greatest RPG's ever made, similar to the adventure genre's Ocarina of Time. Famous for it's mesmerizing time traveling plot, music by Mistuda and Uematsu, and the great Akira Toriyama's character design. It has no relation with and should not be confused with Chrono Crusade. It has two sequals, Radical Dreamers & Chrono Cross.

The story follows silent protagonist Crono, who after a disaster with his friend Lucca's teleporter, travels back in time to save a mysterious girl he just met. Soon after he's on an epic quest spanning millions of years to save the world from destruction at the hands of the dread parasite Lavos.

Standing in the Battledome

The verse involves characters able to manipulate the elements and with great fighting feats, like cuting through a mechanical robot with a simple sword's slash, or cutting through a hill with an slash; regarding the magic, is your typical RPG magic, yet the characters can mix the attacks to create a powerful combo; some magics are powerful yet part of game mechanics, as a black hole for example. The verse also involves with a lot of time traveling and time fuck, there is a flying ship called Epoch that can travel through time and interfere with other eras greatly influencing the future eras.

The series is most known in the vs community for Lavos, an alien parasite with great durability feats and that can life wipe the planet with a single attack. That's not to say that there aren't other impressive characters, as far from the strongest weapons include a bow with arrows that strike like meteorites and a fist that launches attacks in the teratons (and can be fired like a machine gun) for Marle & Robo respectively, along with the Mammon Machine, which absorbed enough energy from Lavos to levitate entire continents. Do not fuck with Chrono Trigger.
