Notable Attacks/Techniques:

- Ichimonji (Straight Line): This is the name of his sword and its release command is Blacken. Its sealed form takes the form of a large calligraphy brush.

- Conceal: Hides large physical objects, such as the entirety of the Soul King Palace, from view.

- Seal: Creates a boundary that cannot be passed.

- Shikai (Initial Release): "Blacken" (Kuromeyo): The second form (or first "upgraded" form) available to a Zanpakutō. To activate it, the Shinigami needs to learn the name of their Zanpakuto. Upon release, the brush portion takes the form of a medium-sized blade with a curved tip attached to the long brush handle. Whenever Ichibē swings Ichimonji, its blade releases ink. Anything that this ink covers loses its name, and thus its powers. Its power is the power of black: every time Ichibē releases Ichimonji, all of the color black from all beings, dead or alive, becomes his power.

  • Futen Taisatsuryō (Slaughterous Mausoleum of Halted Reincarnation): Ichibē brings forth a massive amount of blackness from all of Soul Society, 100 times over a century into the future and fills a cup with it before drinking from the cup. After chanting an incantation, Ichibē creates a large mausoleum with a fence in front on top of shattered gravestones out of the blackness. This technique takes away all of the darkness in his opponent, including their flesh, blood, and bones, until nothing is left; their destruction is so absolute that they will not even reincarnate.

- Bankai (Final Release): Shinuchi: Shirafude Ichimonji (White Brush Straight Line): The second and final upgraded form of a Zanpakutō. To achieve Bankai, one must be able to materialize and subjugate their Zanpakutō spirit. The power and forms of Shikai and Bankai are dependent on the Zanpakutō. They also vary according to the wielder's strength and training. On average, a shinigami's power becomes 5 to 10 times greater Uniquely, Ichibē activates his Bankai by calling out "Shin'uchi" (真打, True Strike) instead of Bankai, as Ichimonji was the first Zanpakutō to take on an evolved form long before the term "Bankai" existed. Upon activation, the blade of Ichibē's brush becomes white and becomes a long, thick thread that coils in the air around him. With Shirafude Ichimonji, Ichibē can give and change the name of targets who have been struck by the ink of Ichimonjiby writing kanji on their body; doing so gives his target the properties and powers of the name granted. For example, by changing their name to Ant, his opponent would be as weak and powerless as an ant.

 - Zanjutsu (Art of the Sword): The fighting style for the Zanpakutō, (i.e. sword fighting) and is one of the four basic fighting styles of the Shinigami.

  •  if Ichibē lands a blow on his opponent's arm, he can reduce the physical capabilities of that arm by half if he cuts its name in half to Ar.

- Hakuda (Hand-to-Hand Combat): A close-combat martial art of fighting in which one is unarmed and uses only ones body, and is one of the four basic fighting styles of the Shinigami.

  • Senri Tsūtenshō (Heavenly Passing Palm of the Thousand Ri): Ichibē manifests a large hand to push his opponent away with extreme force. According to him, it will send his opponent flying 1000 ri away. The attack may also cause the opposition to lose their vocal functions.

- Shunpo: Superspeed technique which propels the user across short distances at enhanced speeds. Ichibei can cross hundreds of kilometers in moments with this technique

- Kidō (Demon Arts)A form of Shinigami combat that is based on advanced spells that are produced with strong Reiryoku and fall into two categories: Hadō (Way of Destruction) for direct attacks, and Bakudō (Way of Binding) for battle support. It is one of the techniques in the Zankensoki, the group of Shinigami primary combat skills. Kidō spells are triggered by an incantation. Experienced users can trigger them without an incantation, though the effectiveness of the spell will be diminished.

  • Bakudō #62. Hyapporankan (Hundred Steps Fence): The user throws a rod that multiplies into dozens to pierce the opponent and seal their movements

  • Ura Hadō: Sannodō — Teppūsatsu (Hidden Way of Destruction: Third Path — Iron Wind Murder): The user makes a chopping motion with their hand, creating an aura shaped like the head of a large dragon that blows a powerful wind from its mouth at the enemy

.

- Revival: Ichibei can steal powers from those who call out his name and ressurect himself from scattered pieces of his body.
