Background Information:

A famous series of horror movies starring Robert Englund as serial killer Freddy Krueger, who after being burned alive by vengeful neighbors, was granted the power to come back as a dream demon by some dream entities. So he can invade and control the dreams of people and kill them there, after which they die in the real world.

A staple of the series is the several ways (some horrifying, some silly, at times ironic) in which Freddy uses his power to kill his victims. A reimagining of the original came out a few years ago, no longer with Englund, whose last Freddy role had him duking it out with Jason Voorhees.

There have been many spin offs including books, comics, and video games.
