While black holes are extremely haxx attacks, characters with extreme regeneration or technology may be able to escape them, because black holes slowly give off their captured mass via Hawking Radiation. An Eternal Black Hole, however, is a theoretical black hole that does not give off hawking radiation, and is produced by reversing time in a white hole.
Eternal black holes, according to conventional physics, can completely erase the information of an object, as no information is capable of going out. However, in fiction FTL characters may still be able to escape from them.
Eternal Black holes can be created by time manipulation, however they are more commonly found in fiction where a black hole is stated to not give off Hawking Radiation, or a black hole is sufficiently small that it should be giving off vast amounts of hawking radiation, but is not.
